How does it work?
(A2CofC and GVC Combined)
The course has been re designed to accommodate the changing world we live in. All work aside from the actual Flight Assessment will now be provided online, including the final Exam(s). This provides us an opportunity to run courses throughout the year and gives us great flexibility with scheduling mutually convenient course dates. This also keeps the operation COVID secure. The structure of the course:
- Pre-course work. Access to our Online Learning Platform where you will work through modules in your own time (approximately 20 hours study/ 7 hours if A2CofC stand alone course).
- During this period of pre-course work we also provide an Operations Manual Creation Tool. This proven tool enables you to quickly create your own Manual in preparation for the application to the CAA post course.
- 2 Days Instructor Led Ground School via Video Conferencing. This part of the course separates us from many other training providers as it enables any areas that need further clarification to be explored thoroughly. We cover the syllabus mandated by the CAA and there is also an exam at the end of the course but you will be fully prepared by then!
- The Flight Assessment (The really fun part in my opinion but then I'm the examiner). See this as a demonstration of your safe Operating Procedures and flying ability. Experience needed to pass this part of the GVC is not defined but as a 'rule of thumb' you would want to have at least 5 hours flight time logged (including a few hours in the months preceding the test) on the Drone you'll be using.
What do I need?
- A laptop or PC
- Your own Drone
- Applicable Insurance for your Flight Assessment
- Flyer ID (CAA website)
- Experience flying your drone
